Work / Volunteer

For 2015, Solstice Hill Farm is looking for two hardworking dedicated persons, or a couple, with a strong desire to change the current food paradigm. The reality of a new farm will require a person with can-do attitude and desire to work in varied and challenging situations.

Learning to grow in a greenhouse and field can only be done through hands on experience. Classes will suffice but getting your hands dirty is the only way to learn the rhythm of the season. Living and working on a new farm is an exciting and inspiring way to spend a season. The fast pace and on the fly creativity makes for nary a dull moment.

We are a young farm, going into its sixth year. Our first year we ran three farm stands at local markets and supplied a small health food store. In 2011 we added a small wholesale account and a CSA.

The farm is new and exciting with lots of building, learning and experimenting. Set in a remote beautiful location that inspires, plus a pond close by (strolling distance, not that we stroll much). Lots of melons, tomatoes and salad greens plus all the other usual suspects.

Weekly stipend included, plus most lunches and dinners will be shared from on farm produce. Cooking skills desired but not required. Shared space in house with private space under construction to be finished in spring.

Volunteers interested in exchanging work for food are welcome. There is ample room at the farm for tenting/camping. Please contact the farm for more details.
